R. Madhavan to be next President of FTII, India’s premier film institute | Hindi Movie News – Times of India



R. Madhavan, whose movie ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Impact’ simply received the Nationwide Award for the Finest Function Movie, has been nominated President of the Movie and Tv Institute of India (FTII).
He takes over from famend filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who was president from September 30, 2020.
Union Minister for Info and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, took to his X account (previously Twitter) to make the announcement and prolonged his greatest needs to the Nationwide Award-winning actor.
“Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I am positive that your huge expertise & sturdy ethics will enrich this institute, convey optimistic adjustments & take it to the next stage,” Thakur wrote.

On the work entrance, Madhavan has come on board the biopic of inventor Gopalswamy Doraisamy Naidu, who’s also referred to as the ‘Edison of India’. The movie, helmed by Mithran R. Jawahar, could have Punnagai Poo Gheetha as the feminine lead.
